Biographical Note
Mrs. Martha Oatman McSparrin graduated from the Indiana Normal School in 1924 and became a schoolteacher. Her husband, Mr. McSparrin, was instrumental in establishing vocational education in Western Pennsylvania. Martha's mother, Samantha Leasure Oatman, briefly attended the Indiana Normal School in the 1800's.
